Northern Stevedoring Services is a business delivering stevedoring, logistics and transport capabilities facilitating import and export out of regional Queensland centres.
But that’s not what we produce. We produce value.
The stats to back it up.
Key performance indicators show our stevedores and our team capabilities are unmatched nationally.
That includes productivity for our bulk rota box loading for example.
It comes down to the experience and versatility of our staff who are backed by top-shelf equipment and maintenance.
Because NSS is required to handle a greater range of cargo than other ports, we need to deliver more training and be better placed in terms of our stevedoring and landside skills.
The benefits for major ports including Townsville, Mackay and Gladstone are that we have a more diverse offer to businesses looking to both import and export.
The continuity of staff adds to the rigour of the business and we are fortunate to have a lot of staff that have been with NSS long-term.
A significant number have been with NSS for more than ten years.
During that time, we’ve seen massive changes from the types of cargo we’ve handled through to the equipment employed, how well are people are trained and the efficiencies we’ve notched up.
We’re very lucky to have such a team that have been with the company generally for a long time and have seen and experienced many aspects of the business.
That all helps for NSS to deliver both a better service to its clients and dividends to owners.
We will continue to invest in our service, our people and our assets to continually expand the Queensland service offer.
