NSS History – Committed to Serving Regional Queensland Since 1971
In 1971, two Australian stevedoring companies amalgamated, and Northern Stevedoring Services (NSS) was born.
Today, NSS is a private company jointly owned by Glencore and Qube. These shareholders bring significant experience across the mining, stevedoring, transport and logistics industries, supporting the continued growth and development of NSS operations.
Headquartered in Townsville, Queensland, with operations spanning regional Queensland’s major port facilities including Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Weipa, NSS has built a strong reputation for stevedoring and integrated supply chain management for ocean cargo.
Over more than five decades, our capabilities have continued to grow alongside the industries and communities we serve.
Our approach is integrated, with supply chain solutions managed through one organisation to help deliver greater efficiency, coordination and reliability across the movement of cargo.
From stevedoring and cargo handling to warehousing, transport, logistics and specialised services, our experienced teams work closely with customers to provide practical solutions from ‘ship to shore, shore to door’.
