As the year draws to a close, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on our collective achievements and express my heartfelt gratitude for your hard work, commitment, and resilience throughout 2024.
This year has brought its share of challenges, but together, we have navigated them with determination and teamwork. In Mackay, Gladstone, and Townsville, your efforts have been instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our ports, supporting regional Queensland’s exporters and importers.
Thanks to the strong collaboration between our managers, owners Glencore and Qube, and all of you, we’ve strengthened our operations and created opportunities that benefit our communities.
Speaking of community, I am particularly proud of the role we’ve played in giving back this year. From supporting local charities to engaging with community groups, your contributions have made a meaningful difference. These efforts highlight not only our commitment to business success but also our shared values of care and responsibility.
As we head into the wet season, it’s crucial that we remain vigilant about safety. The
conditions during this time of year can be unpredictable and sometimes hazardous, but by continuing to prioritize safe practices, we can ensure that everyone returns home safely to their families every day.
Please look out for one another, adhere to safety protocols, and never hesitate to speak up if you notice something that could pose a risk.
The festive season is also a time to pause, recharge, and connect with loved ones. I hope each of you can take a well-deserved break and reflect on the part you’ve played in making 2024 a successful year for our company and the communities we serve.
Thank you once again for your dedication and hard work. On behalf of the entire leadership team, I wish you and your families a joyous Christmas and a safe, prosperous New Year. I look forward to continuing this journey together in 2025.
