Lending a hand is recognised

April’s Employee of the Month is a recognised team player.

NSS Linesman Alvin Fitsimmons

Linesman Alvin Fitzsimmons has been with NSS for eleven years.

Alvin has made a name for himself embracing the challenges of his work. He’s the first one to put his hand up when to fill in when numbers are down and otherwise makes himself available as a volunteer.

Going the extra mile is part of his resume.

The effort to help fill the gap created by a team-mate who has been waylaid has also been recognised by Northern Stevedoring Services in its Employee of the Month recognition for March.

Heavy Fabrication Tradesman Bradley Waldon was also recognised for his four years contribution as a Health and Safety representative and helping NSS keep its promise to staff that they get home each day to their families in the same condition they left.

Bradley’s held the HSR role for more than half the time he’s been with the business.

He embraces challenging issues undertaken in maintaining and servicing NSS equipment including working on call.

In a display of NSS values Bradley stepped up recently to assist the team in the absence of the second Heavy Fabrication Tradesman who was on sick leave.

Congratulations Bradley and Alvin and thanks for your contribution.
