Whistleblowing

Whistleblowing is the act of reporting wrongdoing, misconduct, bullying, or unethical behaviour within an organisation. This can include violations of laws, regulations, company policies, or threats to safety and welfare. Whistleblowers may be employees, contractors, or others with inside knowledge who choose to speak up – often to protect others and uphold integrity. NSS is committed to promoting integrity in its business and financial activities, ensuring all our people, customers and communities can thrive. Our Whistleblower Procedure promotes and supports a culture of honest and ethical behaviour, good corporate governance and compliance with NSS’s legal and regulatory obligations.

Making a Report

You can make a report by completing the online form below and by including as much information as possible. All emails received are protected and strictly confidential with those who will assess and action the report in accordance with the policies and procedures. You can choose to remain anonymous throughout the process (although this may impact NSS’s ability to properly investigate the report) and reports will be treated as strictly confidential, subject to limited exceptions as set out in the procedure.

A Whistleblower may use this form if he or she has reasonable grounds to suspect the existence of a Reportable Matter (as defined in the procedure) concerning NSS. Please consider providing as much of the information suggested in the boxes below. The more information that is provided the better NSS will be able to assess the report. Reports may be made on an anonymous basis, however such reports may affect NSS’s ability to investigate the matter properly and to communicate with you about your report. Reports will be treated confidentially, subject to limited exceptions as set out in the procedure.

The protections available under the Whistleblower Procedure and relevant legislation will not apply where a person makes a report that does not constitute a Reportable Matter (including where there is no reasonable basis for a report). A deliberately false or reckless report which does not constitute a Reportable Matter could cause NSS and others significant loss and damage, as well as wasting time, effort and resources. NSS reserves the right to take appropriate action in any such case including treating it as a serious disciplinary matter.
