NSS Training on Track

By Business Support Manager Jade Collins

NSS is committed to fostering a skilled and capable workforce from new starters to seasoned team members.

We are thrilled to introduce Stan Williams, Gary Abraham, Christopher Roker, and Declan Brooks as our new Workplace Trainers.

With their extensive knowledge and experience, they are poised to be invaluable assets, driving the development of our workforce and ensuring new starters hit the ground running.

We’ve recently delivered Dogger training for our casual stevedores, ensuring they’re equipped with the skills needed to excel on the job.

Additionally, we’re calling for expressions of interest for Reach-stacker operator training across all operations.

For those looking to expand their horizons, we’ve also extended opportunities for stevedores interested in upskilling to crane operations.

It’s not just about technical skills. Professional development is a key focus.

Our teams have recently completed Load Restraint and Dangerous Goods training for the transport and warehousing sectors.

These sessions provided valuable insights into the Chain of Responsibility, enhancing the team’s understanding of safety and compliance.

To address manual handling risks, we’ve conducted specialised training for our Lines and Mooring team.

Meanwhile, the Planning team has completed Intermodal Maritime Dangerous Goods training, equipping them with critical skills to manage, plan, and mitigate risks associated with dangerous goods and segregation.

We’re proud to share that we’ve expanded our team of Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs). With HSR training and refresher courses now under their belts, our reps are well-prepared to champion safety across the workplace.

We will continue to focus on training in 2025

Employee Surveys

We Want to Hear From You!

At NSS, we believe that listening to our employees is key to building a stronger, more focused workplace.

That’s why we’re excited to announce the rollout of our Employee Survey in the coming weeks.

This survey is your chance to share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences, helping us better understand what matters most to you. Whether it’s about improving processes, workplace culture, or any other aspect of your role, your feedback is invaluable.

The process will be simple and completely anonymous, ensuring you can provide honest feedback without hesitation. We encourage everyone to take a few moments to participate once the survey is live.

Your input will guide us in making meaningful improvements and focusing on areas that truly matter to you and our organization. Keep an eye out for further announcements, and let your voice be heard.
