NSS is contributing to social change in men’s attitudes.
A group of four staff and managers took part in the annual White Ribbon Walk on November 22, which is part of a series of events promoting an end to violence against women and children.
Business Support Manager Jade Collins, Finance Manager Darren Locke, Business Support Administrator Stephanie Cheslett, Financial Accountant Lucy Royes (pictured above) made their way around the Riverway circuit.
The White Ribbon Walk aligned with the company’s values, Mr Locke said.
“We are proud to represent NSS and join with the Clontarf Foundation to help raise awareness of domestic violence against women.
“As with all change, it comes from the ground up and we encourage respect and inclusion in all our relationships at NSS. That includes with our owners and clients, between the ranks and our suppliers and contractors.
“We hope that leadership will rub off on everyone we have contact with and extend out to the community.”
White Ribbon Australia says one in three women have experienced physical violence by a partner.
They deliver programs in schools, workplaces, and other community areas in a bid to end gender-based violence.
The White Ribbon Australia Workplace Accreditation is an internationally recognised program that encourages workplaces to demonstrate a culture of zero tolerance for gender-based violence.
